Yorkshire Tykes Show 2007 This event was held on Sunday, November 11, 2007, 10am to 3pm at The Bluebell Inn Hotel, Elmhirst Lane, Dodworth, Barnsley South Yorkshire S75 4LS Kes Reunion: Kes star David Bradley and many cast members. PLUS big name Yorkshire stars of film, TV, arts and sport! ![]() The Yorkshire Tykes Show memorabilia and collector fair featured some of Yorkshire's biggest names from the world of film, TV, arts and sport. It raised money for the Barnsley Hospice and the Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice. It was also in support of The Dickie Bird Foundation, to help under privileged children into sport. ![]() Our guests included Kes and Zulu Dawn star David Bradley - this was his first ever public signing event. He played the central character of Billy Casper. A Kes reunion of other cast members and extras celebrated almost 40-years since the publication of Barry Hines book, A Kestrel For A Knave, in 1968. The movie followed in 1969. David's autograph is very rare and this was the first opportunity for many fans to get it - in person. Photos, posters and other memorabilia was available for signing - many fans brught their own. Guests charged for signatures, typically from £5 to £20 each. Other guest signers included Coronation Street, The Bill, Merseybeat and When Saturday Comes star Chris Walker, St Elmo's Fire, Running Man and Threee Men And A Baby rock superstar John Parr, his son and Hollyhoaks hunk, Ben Parr, football legends Allan Clarke, Norman Hunter, Paul Reaney, Mick Jones, Boxing's IBF Light Heavyweight world champion Clinton Woods, Ex-WBO, WBU and WBF Cruiserweight World Champion and now Sky TV pundit Johnny Nelson, legendary boxing trainer Brendan Ingle MBE, who has mentored Junior Witter, Herol 'Bomber' Graham and Prince Naseem Hamed. BBC Look North presenter Harry Gration and Buddy Holly Story lead Andrew Morley who performed hits from the Sheffield Lyceum show. |
