It's an electro pop musical attack on the senses at Sheffield Hallam University's City Campus, in Atrium Level 2, on Wednesday, October 17, 2007, from 8pm. The concert will feature Martyn Ware - the Sheffield musician credited with inventing electro-pop. He was a founding member of both 1980s chart-topping bands Human League (Don't You Want Me) and Heaven 17 (Temptation). The event is also due to feature Luciana Haill, The Sancho Plan, Tal Rosner and Flinton Chalk, from the highly successful and sold-out Future of Sound Tour. See www.futureofsound.org The aim of the concert is to use thought-provoking and entertaining music through a specially designed sound system, creating an all-round 3D audio-scape, to raise awareness of how sound can entertain and enthral us and to demonstrate the significance and importance of science in shaping everything we do - often in ways that we don't automatically think of as being "scientific". Tickets: £10 from Sheffield City Hall Box Office on 0114 2 789 789 or book on-line at www.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk |
