SHEFFIELD trained Bradford boxer Junior Witter (born March 10, 1974) is the WBC Light-Welterweight world champion, and has been a European, British and Commonwealth Light-Welterweight champion.
On September 15, 2006, he defeated DeMarcus Corley on points to win the WBC world light-welterweight crown.
He successfully retained his WBC world light-welterweight title on January 20, 2007 with a ninth round stoppage of Mexican Arturo Morua at Alexandra Palace.
On September 7, 2007, he retained his title with a seventh round knock out against Vivian Harris at The Doncaster Dome.
He won the European Light-Welterweight title by beating Salvatore Battaglia in 2004. He won the British title by defeating Alan Bosworth in 2002, and took the Commonwealth title with a win over Laatekwei Hammond in 2002.
Witter, trained by John and Brandan Ingle, has a fight record of 36 wins (21 by knockout), two draws and only one defeat.
