SHEFFIELD born Clinton Woods (born May 1, 1972) is the IBF Light Heavyweight champion of the world - a title he gained in March, 2005 by defeating Rico Hoye.
He has defended his title in victories against Australia's Jason DeLisle, Jamaican Glen Johnson and twice against Mexican Julio César González - the last win on September 29, 2007, at Sheffield Arena.
He is a big Sheffield Wednesday fan, and has paraded his belts at home games.
Clinton, who grew up in tough surroundings, trains on the Gleadless Valley estate. Trainer, one of the best in the business, is Richard Poxon. Clinton is managed by Dennis Hobson, another avid Wednesday fan.
He has a wife, a son and a daughter. He also has 4 brothers and 2 sisters. He was educated at Westfield Upper school, Mosborough, Sheffield.
His fight record is 39 wins (23 by knockout), 3 losses and 1 draw.
